Additional Therapy at VITALITY Frankfurt

Additional therapy treatments can be a valuable support to your rehabilitation—depending on your findings, treatment goals and medical prescription. These measures are often prescribed by your doctor in addition to active physiotherapy (e.g. exercise therapy) to target specific goals such as pain relief, swelling reduction or improved tissue regeneration. At our clinic in Frankfurt city centre, we use complementary treatments purposefully to ease symptoms, support healing processes and optimise your active therapy.

Our additional therapy services include:

  • Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)
  • Scar Treatment
  • Connective Tissue Massage
  • Heat Therapy (Fango & Red Light)
  • Kinesio Taping
  • Electrotherapy & Ultrasound

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)

Complex Physical Decongestive Therapy:
Swollen tissue is relieved through gentle, rhythmic hand movements used in manual lymphatic drainage. This stimulates the lymphatic system and helps transport fluid towards the lymph drainage pathways. MLD is commonly used after surgery, following sports injuries of many kinds, and during or after cancer treatment.
Depending on your condition, a custom compression garment may be recommended afterwards.

Scar Treatment

Scar Treatment

This is an effective method for treating scar tissue after an injury or surgery. Special techniques help mobilise the tissue around the scar, improve circulation and reduce adhesions. In addition, cellular metabolism is stimulated, supporting the formation of new skin cells—an essential process in wound healing.
Scar treatment can also be beneficial for older scars.

Connective Tissue Massage

Connective Tissue Massage

With this specialised massage technique, different tissue layers are addressed through targeted work on the skin, subcutaneous tissue and fascia. The stimulation created via reflex pathways may have positive effects on other areas of the body, such as joints or even internal organs. This treatment is often used as a complement to help regulate tension and improve tissue glide.

Heat Therapy (Fango & Red Light)

Heat Therapy (Fango & Red Light)

Fango, hot air or the “hot roll” are used as supportive heat applications to relieve pain and promote blood flow and relaxation of muscles and soft tissues. Heat can reduce muscular tension and temporarily improve mobility—especially in areas that are tight or overloaded.
It is also well suited as preparation for a subsequent treatment or massage.

Kinesio Taping

Kinesio Taping

Elastic tape can have a calming or activating effect on muscles, joints, the lymphatic system and the nervous system—depending on how it is applied. It may stimulate lymph vessels, increasing their capacity and reducing tissue congestion. By activating specific skin and joint receptors, taping can help reduce pain and improve body awareness and movement control.
Application is quick and uncomplicated. The tape can be worn during sport and in the shower. Typical wear time is 3–5 days.

Electrotherapy & Ultrasound

Electrotherapy & Ultrasound

In these treatments, electrical impulses are used directly for therapeutic purposes. Different frequencies (low, medium and high) are delivered to targeted body areas via electrodes. Goals may include pain relief, improved circulation, muscle activation/strengthening, stimulation of metabolism and improved resorption capacity in the tissue.
